Experimental film and technology group/laboratory that aims to cast a critical eye on the use of technology (both analogue and digital) applied to image and sound in movement, reflecting and offering creative uses for these materials.
We live in a time of technological transition, where analogue methods continue to coexist alongside those resulting from the revolution produced by digital technologies (both in terms of recording and distributing content). Instead of being passive users of these new – and old – technologies, let’s reflect on how we film, what we use to film, why we do it and who we do it for. This work group serves to put all of these questions on the table and activate creative ways of addressing the technological moment in which we live.
The group divides the working process into three areas: DIY’s devices and equipment development, planning of a workshop program, and the discussion and visionary activities of image experimentation.
Anyone interested in cinema, from film-makers to students, as well as engineers or makers, is welcome to join this film and technology group.
The group has been meeting since 2018 and the support of Banco Sabadell.
