During July 2013, the construction of the first Hirikilabs area on the first floor of the old Donostia fire department took place. As a result of these work sessions, coordinated by Arquimaña, the furniture used in Hirikilabs, the citizen laboratory of digital culture and technology in Tabakalera, was created. The design of this furniture involved an analysis of the uses and typologies of a laboratory space, where different activities such as workshops and meetings take place, but where different traditional and digital manufacturing tools are also used. The resulting furniture had to be flexible, modular, adaptable to the tools used in the space and easy to reproduce.
After nine work sessions, the result was the creation of these particular stools, tables and work tables inspired by geometric shapes.
The Hirikilabs Furniture v1.0 designs are the result of the Hirikilabs construction workshops produced by Tabakalera and DSS2016 during the summer/winter of 2013. Their authorship is collective.
