3D Ikasi

The aim is to investigate 3D printing in the domestic environment and learn by using free software, in order to have complete independence when designing and manufacturing in 3D.

The group was set up by Carmen, Eugenio and Edu in Hirikilabs to investigate 3D printing in the domestic environment and learn by using free software, with the aim of having complete independence when designing and manufacturing in 3D.

In this mini-workshop, attendees will be able to learn simple ways to create 3D parts in their own home and as a family quickly and easily. They will also learn to print the parts designed in the workshop and in fact some of these will be printed later. The workshop is aimed at minors accompanied by an adult and although there will be some computers available it is recommended that they bring their own laptops.

The group aimed to carry out research into:

  • 3D design software
  • 3D printing software
  • 3D scanning software
  • Repositories of 3D objects
  • 3D printing techniques
  • Post-processing techniques
  • Basic programming in Arduino
  • Basic electronics
